Dance Academy Dress Code

*Hair should be pulled up for all dancers (a bun is required for ballet)*
**All clothing must be appropriate**

Ballet/Tap Combo Ages 3-6

  • Leotard (any color & style), pink ballet tights, pink leather ballet shoes, black tap shoes
  • Skirts/tutus optional

Ballet Ages 7+

  • Black leotard (any style), pink ballet tights, pink leather ballet shoes (canvas shoes starting in Ballet 1)
  • Skirts may be worn at teacher’s discretion

Tap Ages 7+

  • Black leotard (any style), pink ballet tights, black lace-up tap shoes
  • Skirts, leggings, & shorts optional

Jazz & Acro Ages 7+

  • Black leotard, black leggings or black shorts, tan tights, flesh colored jazz shoes

Lyrical, Modern & Contemporary Ages 7+

  • Black leotard, tan footless (or convertible) tights OR black leotard with black leggings or black shorts, half soles

Hip Hop Ages 7+ (boys and girls)

  • Loose, comfortable clothing (no jeans), clean Chuck Taylor shoes (black top, white soles). Students may wear high or low top

Musical Theatre Ages 7-13

  • Black Leotard, flesh toned tights or black leggings, black character shoes

Musical Theatre 3

  • Black Leotard, flesh toned tights or black leggings, tan character shoes

  • White tank top or t-shirt, black jazz pants or joggers, black canvas ballet shoes

Jazz & Musical Theatre

  • Fitted t-shirt, black jazz pants or joggers, black jazz shoes

Tap

  • Fitted t-shirt, black jazz pants or joggers, black tap shoes
