The year at a glance:

Fall/Spring Classes:
Castle Rock Dance Academy follows closely with the traditional school schedule. Our dance season starts mid-August and finishes up with a big recital at the beginning of June. Registration is open for these classes until December. We highly encourage students who start the season to complete it.

Mid-Year Classes:
In January, we feel that it is difficult to take new students into classes that have been meeting together since August. Therefore, we will open mid-year classes for students who register after December. These classes will run from January through the beginning in June. Please note that students enrolled in mid-year classes will not perform in the year-end recital.

Summer Classes:
Summer classes run in a short session. These generally start mid- June and run through July.

Recitals:
At CRDA, we feel dance is a performing art and therefore want students to experience dancing on stage in front of a live audience. We have a total of 4 large performances; two in December, one in April, and one in June:

  • “Making Spirits Bright”: our holiday show geared for younger children ages 3-6
  • The Nutcracker of Castle Rock: dancers ages 5 and above can participate in this production. Registration is open until August (registration takes place online). Dancers must attend the audition to participate.
  • Spring Showcase: a mid-semester performance opportunity for dancers age 7+ in select classes.
  • Our end- of- season recital generally takes place in early June. There is no need to register as this is something the studio as a whole participates in.
